Admissions and Registration

Admissions at AFNORTH International School

Our academic year starts in mid August but we welcome enquiries throughout the academic year. We recognise that families coming from different countries may need to start during the school year on occasion and we will try our very best to work with you to ensure your child quickly adjusts and settles into school life.

Moving school is a big decision and can be quite stressful especially if you are moving from overseas. Each National Section and the International Directorate Office are here to do everything we can to help your child’s smooth transition.

Our School offers places for 900+ students aged between 3 and 18 registered in four National Sections. In total we have students from around 22 different nationalities. A visit to our school is strongly encouraged as we are always keen to meet families to discuss whether a student’s needs and aspirations can be supported and a meeting with a member of the Senior Management Team from any of the four Nations can be arranged.

Admission Policy

Admissions for Students from Four Founding Nations

AFNORTH International School is a Dutch Foundation established around its innovative, ambitious, dynamic international community and provides education for children of active duty military from United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany. This group of students are classed as ‘entitled’ to attend AIS.

International Admissions

We have a number of admissions on a space available basis for children from a NATO or DoD background stationed in the area and for children located in the area for commercial reasons. Commercial students are required to get permission from the NL Douane for these enrolments. Local Dutch children, however, are required to attend Dutch schools.

Living our Values – Inspirational Community of Learning

‘Inspiring Respect, Resilience and the ability to Think and Act Inclusively in our international environment’ epitomises our AIS approach. These core values have led to us collectively adopting six ‘Deep Learning Competencies’ better known as our 6 C’s. The 6 ‘C’s are a skill set every student needs to achieve and excel in order to flourish in today’s complex world. You can see the 6 C’s in action by rolling over the pictures below to reveal their meaning.
