We are so grateful, we had the opportunity to visit the AFNORTH International School again after 6 years. We were also very honoured by the request to write a short review and maybe contribute to the new website.
It was a pleasure being again at a school, which has influenced our lives like no other ever did. The moment we walked in the school, after 6 whole years, we felt like we came back home. The one most intense thing that has changed since we left, is that the ceilings got a little bit lower, surely because of how we have grown. Not just our height has changed, also our personalities as we have become adults. For that, this school gave us the needed basics, which we cherish until today. It was great to bring back the memories and to see everything in a different light and from a different perspective.
We have attended AFNORTH between the years 2010-2013 and with all the memories we left behind, we can both frankly say that those were one of the best years of our childhood. When both of us arrived, we could barely speak English and the program for non-native students (ESL) helped us a lot. Classes with only a few students, teachers that pay attention to pupils` needs, care about them and finally the amazing international environment. The years at AIS taught us not only to memorise the important data and theories, but also to understand them, evaluate and discuss. Both of us gained a lot of confidence because of projects we had to do and therefore, were not afraid to talk in public. We gained the skills to express our opinions and to present ourselves.
Thankful for what has AFNORTH given to us, we wish you all the best and best of luck throughout the upcoming years.
Monika and Lucie are both students at University in The Czech Republic
