National Honour Society

“The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921.

Active involvement

Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, US Territories, Canada, and around the world. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.”

AFNORTH NHS chapter has it’s beginning in 1967 and continues to focus on the four pillars that the organization is founded on and selection for membership is rigorous with one of the requirements is that members have and keep a 3.5 cumulative GPA. This student led organization gives members many leadership and service opportunities.

Recently AFNORTH NHS has led or supported many activities such as the Annual Sadie Hawkins Dance, Formal Wear Lending Closet, Tutoring, Painting the AFNORTH Football Field Mural, Powder Puff Football, Food and Toy Drives, DJ Middle School Dances, American Spouses Club Auction, Geilenkirchen Spouses Club Foggy Fields Bazaar and AFNORTH International Awards to name a few. This is a vibrant, active and community supporting organisation that seeks to help others and at the same time support individual growth through the lessons that come through giving to others.
