Sports

A student’s physical development is very important. Specialist PE staff work with students throughout the school, to ensure they have adequate opportunities to be active and develop skills including coordination, balance, control, team working and leadership.

Skills and Sportsmanship

SKILLS AND SPORTSMANSHIP

Students at AIS enjoy a variety of opportunities that set out to develop skills and sportsmanship while striving for excellence and fostering talent. Specialist staff encourage all our students, whatever the age, to achieve their full potential, whilst ensuring a commitment to fair play and encouraging a philosophy of team spirit.

The US High School section offers an array of competitive after school athletics. Students can participate

  • the Fall – American Football, Cross Country, Girl’s Volleyball, Cheerleading and Tennis
  • the Winter – Boys and Girls Basketball, Competitive Cheerleading, and Wrestling
  • the Spring – Track and Field, Boys Soccer and Girls Soccer

For International Students not attending the US section, there is a fee of 100 Euros per a sport which will be billed through the AIS Finance Office.  Entitled  Students from the founding nations are tuition free regardless of which section they attend.

Please note all athletes will fall under the US Department of Defense Education Activity and will be held to the US rules whilst on the team. Practices are held weekly and students may utilize the Activity Bus to minimize parent pickup. Games are held on Fridays and Saturdays and often involve travel. Our vibrant sports program is one of the great ways for students to connect across the nations and we are the proud DIII Champions of 6 different sports in SY23-24.
