Delayed Start of School
Dear parents and students of AFNORTH International School.
After the school closure of Wednesday 17 January 2024, the directorate has decided to have a delayed start of school for Thursday 18 January.
The weather forecast for the region shows snowfall into the late night/early morning. This will have an impact on the road conditions and the traffic in the early morning hours. For the rest of Thursday, the conditions are forecasted to be good (cold but little to no snow).
Therefore school buses will start their routes 1 hour later than normal. This means your children will be picked up at their bus stop 1 hour later than normal (so 07.45 hours becomes 08.45 hours). This would enable all the children to be at school at the latest 10.00 hours.
Please be advised to be at your bus stop before the estimated pick-up time. The buses may still be somewhat later due to the road conditions/traffic.
The Belgian buses will not run. Children are excused from school. Please contact your national office.
School dismissal at the end of the day will be at the normal time, 15.30 hours. After-school activities will be as normal.
