Dear AFNORTH Parents, Students and Community,
The Dutch Government announced last Tuesday that most COVID-19 restrictions would be lifted in the next few days and weeks. The goal is to completely open up society as the vaccinations and immunity levels have increased significantly, the hospital situations are stable and the number of positive cases is going down. The impact of the Omicron version on individuals as well as hospitalisation is very low as well. Read more about the government’s plans via this link:

The Board of Governors has recognised and discussed this new information with regard to a possible impact on the current AIS protocols. It was decided that AIS should follow a cautious approach in the remaining week prior to, and immediately after the Carnival break. AIS’s goal is to continue “in school” education and prevent having to go back to on-line education, as the Dutch Government continues to require positive tested people to self-isolate for a period of five days.
The current AIS COVID-19 protocols will remain in place at this time. The Board will re-evaluate the situation on 10 March.
Respectfully,
Board of Governors
